Boy am I feeling better! The last time that I blogged, I was complaining quite a bit. Sorry about that folks! I went to the Dr.'s and got a cortisone shot. It really helped! I was able to take a nice long walk today. I'm sure happy about that!
Other items to note.... Today is my Birthday! I got my hair done today and treated myself to some breakfast. Later in the day I had coffee at a local shop called Cherry Alley Cafe. Good stuff!
I started my bag for the International Tote Exchange2 today. Spent a chunk of money on the yarn, so I hope that my partner likes it..... (I do) Take care everyone!

Fourth of July Picnic
I went to a picnic last night. The fireworks were the best that I have seen in a long time. The people who hosted the picnic put alot of thought into the "show". I had a great time! Now it is Monday the fourth, and not a thing is going on. I am so lazy. Do you think that I should clean off my desk again?

Thank Goodness!
Let me tell you..... it is so hot! I am so thankful to whomever it was that invented the air conditioner. I have both going and two fans as well. I hung laundry out on the line and it is after 5 pm. It should be dry by dark. I have to tell you that I am quite the maroon. ( if you know what I mean) I have been watering all of the plants by going in and out of the house with a bucket. It was discovered by my sister Laura, that I have an outside spicket. I now am going to water my plants tonight and give them a good soak without having a heart-attack in the heat. YEAH!!!!!!!! Hopefully the pepper plants will perk up. The hot ones are fairing well, but the yellow ones don't look like they'll make it. I hope that they do because they are the only sweet ones that I put in. In my flower bed at that! I really need to pull weeds, but it is to hot. How is this Laura?

Chicken
I made the chicken that I talked about yesterday, today. I didn't make it with a tomato/Mexican flavor, but rather just roasted it with some spices. (I'm lazy) It was so good!

The rain
It is raining today. This makes me want to curl up in front of the tv, knit and be lazy! I sure need to clean my desk items off the kitchen table though because I'm going to make a nice dinner of roasted chicken- Mexican style. (Sorry that you aren't here Joni) I really wanted to pick up and tidy my lawn in preparation for flowers ect... The weather just didn't cooperate... I also need to pull the garbage and check my mail-box before the water gets to full in the alley. When it rains where I live, the alley that I cross to get to anywhere floods. It makes it near impossible to go anywhere once it fills unless, I want to get really wet. God's way of making me slow down for a day?

Desk Cleaning Continiues....
O.k..... The crap that was on my desk is now on my kitchen table. (I did throw away all the junk mail) I have to empty the drawers so that I can file. Of course the thing that complicates this, is that there is no more room on the kitchen table. I guess that the couch is next! The drawer fell victim to disorganization when I emptied the moving box into it instead of placing the items in a organized fashion. (I did this last fall) I was offered assistance by my niece Emma. Sad to say, she offered this last Sunday when her brother Christopher walked by the desk and a pile of junk mail fell onto the floor. I think that I can blame all of my desk clutter on the USPS. What do you think?

What a mellow day
O.k. Everyone, I admit that I am still "cleaning" off my desk. I now have piles of paper all over the living room and I still haven't emptied that duffel bag! I haven't opened the drawers to clean out either....I don't know why this is such an issue for me. I have managed to knit some today though. I also managed to spend all of my money without leaving the house. (bought fuel) All in all it is such a mellow day.... I am enjoying myself very much without doing much..... Sigh!

I'm back!
I have to tell you that it is not a good idea to clean your desk off into a duffle bag. This is how you lose things such as bills to pay and that darn paper you wrote your blog log-in information on. I'm back and I'm sorry that it took so long people! :-)

Where does time go?
I don't know how time goes by so fast.... Last night I went with my sister to drop one of my nieces off to attend her first school dance. She even was asked by a BOY! I can still remember when she was born. Where did that baby go? She is becoming a beautiful young woman and although this is a good thing, I am still sad.

My goodness!
It has rained every day for about a week now! It is such a good excuse to not mow the lawn, rake, trim ect.... How is the weather where you are? I have to work every day this week...... I don't mind because I'm not forced to do housework.... Just kidding! Actually my sister Laura came over while I was working today and cleaned my oven. She wants me to babysit in November. Good trade-off I think. I might bake some chicken (Mexican style) on Sunday. I need some tomatoes and cilantro first. I think I have everything else. Yummy! Homemade corn tortillas would be good too. You can't eat chicken cooked that way without them. My sister Joni would love to be here for this meal! Wouldn't you?

Keys
Two times I have locked myself out of the house by stepping out the back door and it shutting behind me. Why this keeps happening I don't know. The lesson learned here? Obviously I didn't learn anything the first time! I'm starting to wonder if the house doesn't want me here. Do you believe in that sort of thing?

Day Off
Today is Saturday and the second day off from work in a row. I usually have one day off a week. I am not as bored today as I most always am. Two days off for me is torture. I feel as if there is only so much to do at home before the walls start closing in. Why is it that when you don't have to get up you wake up early without an alarm, and when you have to get up for work the alarm is your enemy? Do you know what I mean?

Retirement
There has been some discussion within my family about retirement as of late. This comes to mind as my father is a few years away from retirement age.... Myself, I don't know what I would do when I came to the age of having the choice of "to work or not to work". These days work is such a big part of life. What is on my mind today is, should I let my job define me? I think that people sometimes forget there is more to life than your job. What of your interests? I think that in the busy-ness of day to day life we need to make a point of evaluating what makes us happy. We need to feed our spirit to remain healthy both physically and mentally. Taking a step back and doing this is important, so as not to lose sight of who we are. Who are we are to ourselves, our family and friends. So my family and friends, I would like to encourage you to take a step back, breath in deep, and evaluate.
